Madhyam Help Center

Everything you need to know about setting up your account, writing your first masterpiece, and navigating Nepal's premier open blogging platform.

Getting Started & Your Account

How do I create an account?

Click the Log In button in the top right corner. You can instantly sign up using your Google account. We use a secure, passwordless authentication system to keep your data safe while ensuring you never have to remember another password.

Setting up your Author Profile

Your profile is your digital identity. To edit it, click your avatar in the top right and select "Profile." From there, click "Edit Profile" to update your display name, write a professional bio, and upload a high-quality picture. Readers are much more likely to follow writers who have a complete, authentic profile.

Writing & The Editor

How do I type in Nepali?

Madhyam features a native Romanized Nepali engine. When the Nepali editor is active, typing `m` gives you `म`. To create half-letters (consonant clusters), use the apostrophe key (`'`) as a Halant. For example, typing `n'm` creates `न्म`, allowing you to type words like 'Janma' (ज+न्+म).

Formatting your text

The editor is distraction-free by default. To format text (Bold, Italic, Headings, or Quotes), simply highlight the text you want to change. A floating menu will appear over your cursor, allowing you to instantly apply the desired styling.

Are my drafts saved automatically?

Yes. As soon as you begin writing, your work is saved in the background. You can close the window and return at any time. To access your unfinished work, go to your Profile and click on the "Drafts" tab.

Publishing & Discovery

How do I make my article live?

Once your draft is perfect, click the Publish button at the top right of the editor. You will be prompted to verify your title and add up to 5 Tags (e.g., Technology, Culture). These tags are critically important because they determine where your article appears in our Recommendation Engine.

Cover Images

Articles with strong cover images perform significantly better. We highly recommend uploading a high-resolution, landscape-oriented image to the top of your draft before publishing. This image will also be used automatically when your article is shared on social media.

Interacting with the Community

Clapping for stories

When you read an outstanding piece of writing, you can show your appreciation by clicking the Clap icon at the bottom of the article. This sends a direct notification to the author and signals to our algorithm that the content is highly valuable.

Following authors

If you want to read more from a specific writer, click the Follow button on their profile or next to their name on their articles. Their future publications will be prioritized on your personalized homepage feed.
